Our approach is to assist the individual with full participation of choices within the community. The ongoing growth of the individual’s quality of life, choices, control and independence are reinforced using the four pillars of gentle teaching.

SIP Homes

Our Semi-Independent Program provides support, training and counseling needed for developmentally disabled individuals to live alone, with a roommate in their own apartment or home as they work toward greater independence. Supports and Services vary based on the identified strengths, needs, abilities and preferences of the individual. These may include:

  • Meal Preparation

  • Shopping

  • Money Management

  • Home or Apartment Maintenance

  • Accessing Resources

  • Rights and Responsibilities of Community Living

  • Social and Leisure Skills

  • Medication Monitoring

Unlicensed homes

Unlicensed care homes provide room, board and some level of services for two or more unrelated individuals, but are not licensed or certified by the state. These homes often serve very vulnerable individuals such as individuals with serious mental illness or other disabilities, or older adults with functional limitations and limited financial resources.

Independent living

Independent Living is for seniors who are able to live on their own in an apartment or house, but who want the conveniences of living within a community that provides services and amenities such as housekeeping, social activities, dining, transportation, security, or the option of assistance with daily tasks or medical care if they need it later on.

Transportation services

We often provide transportation to their site and to other events (field trips) if you’re leaving from their location. Many towns and cities have senior centers funded by local government or private donors. Senior centers are places where seniors can share a meal, socialize, exercise, and engage in activities.
